Wildfires can be tracked by their distinctive rumble

In a new study published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters, researchers have shown that they can now map distant wildfires through the rumble they make, noting that even a low-intensity grassland fire “hums” loudly enough to be monitored just by sound.
