WILDFIRE NEWS OF THE DAY - 081208

In the news today, Tahoe is getting some aerial assistance and LAFD puts out an interesting video on wildfire season. Oregon Public Broadcasting gives a quick update on wildfires in the northwest, while Texas deals with some small flare ups. Fort Carson in Colorado is having problems with wildfires (again) and San Diego City Council extends the state of emergency from the October 2007 wildfires for another 21 days so the region can continue qualifying for state and federal money. A couple of stories out of Montana highlight wildfires in that area, while another tells of Yellowstone’s recovery from the 1988 wildfires. A small wildfire outside of Phoenix is contained, and Florida has a bit of a burn to deal with as well.
