WILDFIRE NEWS OF THE DAY - 041013

The Red Cross provided assistance to people impacted by wild weather across the US yesterday, including wildfire evacuees in Southern California (1); while pilots weighed in on safety issues if the FAA goes forward with plans to close the control tower at Ramona Airport in San Diego County (2); and Kern County Fire Department will be hosting wildfire awareness events in several towns in a few weeks (3). Following the second-warmest March in Tucson, Arizona's, history, weather forecasters are having a tough time predicting this year's fire outlook (4); the next article examining Colorado's extended fire season (5).
