Orange County Fire Authority's Fire Chief, wrote a letter to the editor of the Los Angeles Times advocating for the continued use of fire retardant in battling wildfires, noting that as wildfires become more prevalent, retardant has never been more critical, and it has no substitute in regards to containing wildland blazes.
