Across the Western United States, existing wildfire dangers are getting worse, with four of the five largest wildfires in California’s history having occurred since 2020, and close to a quarter of the Americans now at risk of catastrophic wildfires living in the eastern half of the country, contributing to the destabilization of the homeowners insurance market.
