National Interagency Fire Center officials reported that 89 large wildfires are burning on 2,123,318 acres across the U.S., in a year in which 27,982 wildfires have burned 4,247,895 acres so far, with human activity blamed for more than 25,000 wildfires that have burned nearly 3 million acres.
