Wildfire Fighting Agencies Spend Too Little on Prevention
A survey of 173 public-sector wildland firefighting professionals from across North America released in the 2024 State of North American Wildfire Resilience Report by environmental technology firm AEM found that less than 40% of agencies spend at least 10% of their budget on prevention, while 42% said they don't use any software to detect and monitor fires.
