National Fire News for Wednesday, August 28, 2024 - About 17,000 Wildland Firefighters and Support Personnel are Assigned to Wildfires

The National Interagency Fire Center reported that about 17,000 wildland firefighters continue to battle 48 major wildfires which are burning on 2,103,454 acres, with evacuation orders in effect for seven of those blazes.
