National Fire News for Monday, September 9, 2024 - Across the California Central Valley and into Arizona, the Heat Wave Will Continue with Widespread Temperatures of 100 to 110 Degrees
The National Interagency Fire Center reported that 23,205 wildland firefighters, including 245 soldiers from the 14th Brigade Engineer Battalion and the 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment based out of Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington, are currently battling 67 large wildfires that are burning on 2,146,170 acres.
