Below-average snowfall in New Mexico's mountains this winter has fire managers worried about the wildfire season ahead (5); the situation not helped by the fact that a serial arsonist appears to be at work on the outskirts of Albuquerque (6). The Water Research Foundation is hosting a Wildfire Readiness and Response Workshop April 4, 2013 in Denver, Colorado, which will address the impact wildfires have on watersheds (7); while the Summit County Wildfire Council has begun taking grant applications to fund fuel reduction projects (8).
