New way of monitoring wildfire could take flight
An associate professor of electrical and computer engineering at South Carolina's Clemson University found that artificial intelligence can learn to estimate heat by studying patterns in ordinary red-green-blue (RGB) images captured by cameras on drones, allowing future drones to use lighter-weight and less power-hungry cameras to map wildfires.
