Wildfire stories came mostly in pairs today, leading off with two from Colorado covering wildfires there, followed by two from Utah giving a summary of their wildfires. Next up, an update on wildfires in central Montana from a pair of articles, and something of interest to San Diego residents on the continuing debate about fire strategy there. Two stories follow that which highlight the budget crunch effects on wildfire preparedness at opposite ends of the country - Oregon and West Virginia. Two stories out of Redding discuss fires in northern California, while the forestry industry fires another salvo in the forest thinning debate, this time from State Senator Sam Aanestad. Finally, an interesting story about an unusual strategy - cowboys as fire spotters.
