Firefighting pilot at Gold Mountain Fire dies after aircraft crashes into Gunnison County reservoir
Gunnison County Sheriff's Office reported that the Gunnison Regional Communications Center received a report on Sunday that a KMAX helicopter helping fight the Gold Mountain Fire had gone down in the Silver Jack Reservoir, in the southwest part of that Colorado county, with the Montrose County Sheriff's Office Dive Team recovering the body of the pilot from the aircraft shortly thereafter.
