Hundreds of thousands of acres burn as fires spread in West
Fires across the southwestern U.S. have picked up early this year, with over 400,000 acres burning between Utah and Colorado alone, as 546,000 acres were on fire nationwide - 146% of the average year-to-date acreage burn during the last 10 years, according to the National Interagency Fire Center.
