A letter to the editor protests the impact of the State Fire Tax on residents of the Southern California beachside community of Malibu (1); while CAL FIRE reported a nine-acre wildfire burning near the desert community of Palm Springs (2); but a hazardous fuel reduction program in the Plumas National Forest has been redesigned in the aftermath of the Chips Fire (3).
