Two articles from the LA Times lead off today: the first discusses how a major storm could wreak havoc on hillsides in burn areas; the second discusses a comprehensive plan from the California Air Resources Board to take on Global Warming. One couple who will definitely not forget the Tea Fire is slowly recovering from their horrific experience, while five suspects from the 2007 Corral Canyon incident are waiting on delays in their trial. Texas residents are smelling smoke in Corpus Christi, and Arizona residents near a controlled burn are doing the same. The Solo II Fire continues to burn near Sequoia at a high altitude (perhaps the storm front coming into the Sierras will help firefighters snuff it out). Fire agencies in Australia are considering changing the training regime for new recruits, and they may be needed very soon, as the next article relates, but neighbors will continue to help each other out in the face of bushfires, as the final article in the trio details. Finally, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Long Beach Airport, although I don't think anyone will be making snowmen out of this white stuff!
