Senators propose bill to require PPE for wildland firefighters, but some have reservations

Under the Healthy Lungs for Heroes Act, a new bipartisan Senate bill co-authored by Senators Adam Schiff, D-CA, and John Curtis, R-UT, the U.S. Forest Service and the Interior Department would develop and implement mandatory respiratory protection for wildland firefighters and supporting staff to protect them from inhaling dangerous toxins while fighting wildfires.
