National Fire News for Tuesday, August 27, 2024 - As of This Morning, 52 Large Active Wildfires are Being Managed with Full Suppression Strategies Nationwide
The National Interagency Fire Center reported that 17,000 wildland firefighters and support personnel are currently battling 52 large wildfires nationwide that have burned 2,119,420 acres, as 60 fireline management personnel from Australia and New Zealand lend a hand.
