Wildfire NOTD subscriber Leda Kobziar, a Professor of Wildland Fire Science at the University of Idaho, sent along an article with the following comments: "Fire scientists from across the West propose new designations of “Strategic Fire Zones” in National Forests to expand operational capacity for beneficial fire use; up to 12.7 million ha, 85% outside of existing wilderness or national parks, identified as target areas."
