Firefighting costs soar, limiting needed work


The Forest Supervisor for the Malheur National Forest, the acting Forest Supervisor for the Umatilla National Forest and the Forest Supervisor for the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest weighed in on the need to stop the cycle in which thinning projects are put on hold due to funding going to fight wildfires.
