Scientists find a surprising result on global wildfires: They’re actually burning less land


A NASA study published in the journal Science showed that the amount of acreage burned in wildfires globally has declined by nearly a quarter in the past two decades, mostly due to the fact that lands that were wildfire-prone have been converted to agricultural uses.
