WILDFIRE NEWS OF THE DAY - 021213

An escaped campfire is being blamed for a one-acre wildfire last week in Larimer County, Colorado (1); while a bill to extend a tax credit to property owners who take steps to protect their homes from wildfires has passed in the House and now goes to the Senate (2); even as the Long-Term Recovery Group of Northern Colorado's office in Fort Collins, which assists wildfire survivors, announced new hours (3). As Idaho heads for its summer fire season, officials in the Sawtooth National Forest discuss what the future may hold in the next article (4); while the Southwest Fire Rescue Conference is underway in Corpus Christi, Texas (5).
