WILDFIRE NEWS OF THE DAY - 030212

Firefighters in Desert Hot Springs, California, battled a one-acre wildfire all night long (1); and windy conditions have prompted wildfire warnings for Las Vegas and parts of southern Nevada today (2); while residents of Summit, Colorado, which is surrounded by forests filled with beetle-killed trees, are reading a book about a catastrophic wildfire and drawing parallels to their current situation (3).
